Airmiles to Avios Rip off

Written by Administrator on 09 September 2011.

Press Release –Fight the Airmiles Change – 9th September 2011

Fight the Airmiles change is a group of 7 dedicated airmiles collectors who feel the changes in the Airmiles scheme to Avios are beyond comprehension and out of order.

Airmiles have been offering FREE flights (although they were never actually free, we paid for them through our purchases) for a number of years and this scheme has attracted 2.2 million people, these people have changed their shopping habits, moving from one supermarket to another, changed banks for a new credit card and changed online shopping habits to ensure that they go via the Airmiles estores.

The people who support our ‘Fight the Airmiles Change’ campaign have one thing in common and that is they feel aggrieved and have said clearly “I CHANGED MY SHOPPING HABITS TO COLLECT AIRMILES”

Airmiles announced “EXCITING NEWS” on 1st September 2011, they are rebranding from Airmiles to Avios and completely changing their loyalty programme. Customers have until 16th November to book FREE flights via their website or until 15th December to book via the call centre.

This news, to the majority of collectors who are aware of these changes, was anything but exciting and that is clearly demonstrated on the “YOUR STORY” section of our website.

Here is the Great Rip-off in a bit more detail:-

As you can see Airmiles collectors are being told that Free now means BIG MONEY.

It takes a long while to collect 10,000 airmiles and customers who have spent years saving for a long haul flight are miles short with no way of collecting enough for their dream holiday before the deadline. They have not been given enough notice, do not have the cash to pay the new charges or they cannot book as they have no idea then their holiday for next year will be allocated.

Airmiles are ripping their customers off and we are here to encourage all airmiles collectors who feel aggrieved to write, petition and fight for fairer conditions to the change over.

Please help us get the message to the majority of Airmiles customers who still do no know about these changes.

Check out our website fighttheairmileschange.co.uk and our facebook page Fight the Airmiles Change and see how many unhappy customers there are.

We are in this for the long haul!
